Perfect 53º weather and clear skies.
We started out with 10:30-11:00 miles and settled in just under 11/mile at 5 miles. As we crossed into the 8-10 mile mark it was obvious we were comfortable enough to make it under 10:45/mile...by the time we got to the 2 mile mark we were feeling very good and by the last mile had decided a goal of 3:11 was realistic...w/ a half mile to go we kicked it in and crossed at 3:10:18.
Final Stats
18.04 miles
3:10:18
10:32/mile
This may seem like...well, Craig, that's OK, but Mike did it under 9:00 miles... I checked on last year's chart and other than a great 15 mile run, none of my other longer runs were under 10:56/mile. In fact all of them over 20 miles were over 11:00/mile.
All of my runs this year have been U11 and I would like to keep it that way.
I used a bottle of gatorade and one bag of GU chomps (orange). Darren's wife, Jill, biked it with us and there were some tough hills, especially for a bike. She hadn't been on a bike in over 18 years. She was feeling it by the end and actually couldn't catch us the last mile.
(cue the music)It's 70º and clear in downtown Keota, the forecast calling for blue skies and a high of 76, tonight some clouds move in and cooler with a low down to 58...I'm outta here and Brother Mark Lee is going to keep you company the rest of the day, so keep it right here at KRAG FM, here's the BOS...
Baby this town rips the bones from your back
Its a death trap, its a suicide rap
We gotta get out while were young
`cause tramps like us,
Its a death trap, its a suicide rap
We gotta get out while were young
`cause tramps like us,
baby we were born to run

Nice job! It says something that you had kick left at the end, I think. You're right where you want to be. Think about this: You're on pace to shave 1/2 hour off your PR! That's INCREDIBLE! Keep running.
