7 not 7.75

20 August 2009

Tuesday ended up just being a loooonnggg day.  I got home well after midnight, and then worked, then drove to Palm Beach.  I felt wrecked on Tuesday, and didn't worry about taking a rest day instead of cardio.  When I got to Palm Beach it was getting to sundown, and I realized I forgot my fuel belt.  So I grabbed a water from the front desk and headed out to do 7.75 with 4x 1200m pick-ups.  This is where my Garmin really shines, sort of.  I love that it tells me pace and how far I've gone without me mapping something out.  The only problem I had was after dark, I had to activate the light by touching the bezel with 2 fingers at the same time.  Since I was all sweaty, it wouldn't respond every time, and I had to wait until I got to a street light.  That was the first real problem I've had with it.

The run wasn't too bad.  I did the pick-ups between 7:30 and 8:30 per mile.  I decided to cut the run a bit short because it was getting late.  It was dark.  It was humid, and I kept getting mouthfuls of bugs.

Oh, and the weather.  84 degrees with 92 heat index.  I know it sounds crazy, but I see people around here running at all times of the day.  Seriously, I saw several people out for runs at lunchtime today.  It was 94 with a heat index over 100.  Crazy.

Stats:

7.0 miles
1:00:51
8:41/mile

Mike: Awww, c'mon!  I was talking about her CAT!
