Back on Track

I ran 3 miles yesterday at an 8:58 pace.  I found a trail in Danville and ran before T's first game.  It was an easy run, and I felt pretty good.  Earlier in the morning, I lifted weights and did leg work for the first time in a month.  So, I was happy that I wasn't fatigued.

This morning, no soreness from the weights.  I ran 1.5 miles to the track slow (around 10 minute pace), walked and stretched for 5 minutes, ran 1 mile hard (6:41 pace), walked 5 minutes and finished with a 3.5 mile slow jog (again 10 minute pace).  So, 6 miles total.  The mile felt very good considering that I lifted with legs and ran yesterday.  I was very loose and didn't feel like I was killing myself, which has been the case in prior instances where I run the mile as hard as I can.

This week, I'll return to the Galloway training schedule.  I'm not sure what it entails right now, but I'm feeling ready to up the training.  I'm very happy with how I feel two weeks after running San Francisco.

On T's tournament, they won their group going 2-0-1 and lost in the semi-finals in a very frustrating loss.  They went to double-overtime with the score 0-0 and lost in PKs.  It was frustrating because they totally dominated the match.  The other team did not have a shot on goal in regulation, and they're only shot in the entire match was in the first overtime.  T's team just couldn't put the ball in the net despite having what seemed like a gazillion chances . . . tough way to lose,  but they had a great first tournament.
