Cut Me, Mick

I woke up this morning feeling like I really didn't feel like running, but went through the motions trying to find things and hitting the snooze button at least twice.   My 6:30 alarm is actually 10-15 min ahead.   I really don't look at it and check to see exactly how much it is ahead, but I know it's ahead.    I stretched,  double checked a 6.25 route, and it was 7:15 by the time crossed Broadway and saw the Bank sign...ahhhhh....63ยบ and cloudy.   Reminded me of when Rocky goes out for a run in that first movie, I can hear the french horns starting that dark music out.    But something clicked after my first 4 min and I kicked it into gear for 2 min of my first pick-up.   After 1, 1.5, and 2 I could see I was close to 8 min miles, but probably wasn't going to keep that going.    I found myself clearly out of range of an 8:00/mile after 3.25 miles and by this time I was confused on times other than 2min over 8 min.    I did 5x400 and then just ran the rest.   When I got to the last mile I was at 46:08 and decided to do a 1600 pick-up.   I did that last mile in 7:45...not bad, but I felt great.
Final Stats:
6.25 miles
53:53
8:37/mile
Good weather.
