Feeling Pretty Good!

So, it's the second day after the marathon, and surprisingly I feel great.  I'm going to try 3 miles tonight.  I'm going to go light this week with 3 3 mile runs and do 4 miles this weekend.  Then, next week go back to an easy "normal" week.  By the third week, I expect to jump back into the marathon training schedule for Chicago.

BTW, thanks for your thoughts and support during the marathon.  I really appreciate that you followed my progress.  One other key learning point from the run:  give yourself enough time to hit the porta-potty before the run.  I didn't and cost myself a minute or two at mile 15 or 16.

Guys, I don't know if you have half marathon times, but if you do, I'd suggest signing up for a starting corral, as opposed to the open start.  Doing so, puts you with better runners and eliminates some of the weaving that you have to do to avoid slower runners.  I did a similar thing for San Francisco, but still found some idiots who must have lied about their target times and were walking by mile 3.  I don't know why it bothers me so much, but I wish people would just be honest about where they line up for a race.  It's tremendously inconsiderate.  Enough whining . . . I'm off to do the run.
