Have you seen the great White?

So I'm running down this trail, minding my own business when this huge white nitrogen fertilizer storage tank is to my right...   I've seen this from the road probably 1000 times and it always looked big, but man this thing was a monster and it hummed loudly as I ran past it.

I ran the Ke-Wash trail and felt very good the whole time, but unsure of my times until I saw MILE 7 in West Chester on a post.  On the way back I found Mile 6 and Mile 5 and even Mile 3.   Crazy I hadn't seen mile 3 before.  What I liked most about the trail?   NO HILLS.   I got to the 7 mile mark around 1:06:30 and as soon as I turned around I felt tired and I think I had a 9:45 on that next mile.   I had figured I was right around 9:30 the entire time I was running.   As I got closer coming back I felt stronger.   I took gatorade with me and drank a little every 15-20 minutes.   I finished in an unusual time, but I'll take it:

Final stats:
14 miles
2:13:01
9:30 pace

Craig is stretching and shouting "Call Me Ishmael"!

  1. OK, I know this doesn't compare to Mark's 7:44/mile pace on his 1/2 or Mike's constant sub 9/mile pace on everything, but this was a PB for me today by a LOT. Last year, my best pace with anything over 9 miles was 9:56/mile and I did that on 10 miles and 15 miles last summer. Everything else was in the 10:05-11:30/mile pace range. You guys have inspired me! TANKS! Big White Tanks!
